Bermalonga® was developed by Deflor and
has been successfully used in engineering works. It is composed of pressed dehydrated
plant fibers forming an extremely strong and flexible cylinder.
Technical specification:
Drainability
Plant fibers retain sediments but allow water to pass without clogging.
Bermalonga® may be partially used as a deep drain.
Light
The density of the plant fiber Bermalonga® is 100Kg/m3. It is easily handled,
allowing manual transport to relatively inaccessible sites.
Moisture retaining
Bermalonga® can retain moisture, absorbing about five times its weight in water.
A typical 40 cm-diameter, 1.60 meter-length Bermalonga® weighing 20 kg absorbs up to 100
liters of water.
Flexible
Easily molded on the site, allowing bending and curves. Volume is reduced when
pressed.
Bermalonga® is manufactured in 20, 30, 40 and 50 cm diameters. The standard length is
1.60m, extensible to 10m with no loss of its characteristics.
